Member State Committee (MSC) has reached a unanimously decision to identify six new substances as SVHCs as per its scrutiny of comments from stakeholders during public consultation. However, scientific evidences to four phenolic benzotriazole substances (i.e. UV-350, UV-327, UV-328 and UV-320) is now not strong enough to include them into the Candidate List, said the MSC, therefore they are not added to the Candidate List this time.

For the six substances, producers and importers of articles containing any of the six substances included in the Candidate List on 20 June 2013 have six months from this date to notify ECHA if both of the following conditions apply:

  • 1. The substance is present in those articles in quantities totalling over one tonne per producer or importer per year.
  • 2. The substance is present in those articles above a concentration of 0.1% weight by weight.
